Conservation
We produce the surveys conservation projects depend on: accurate 3D records of historic structures, used to plan, fund and carry out repairs.
How we do it
Laser scanners and digital cameras capture a structure inside and out as a detailed point cloud and imagery. From that we produce the drawings a conservation team needs, and a 3D model they can "look inside" virtually.
What you receive
A full topographic survey, floor plans, elevations, cross-sections and other architectural documentation for conservation planning, applications and restoration design. The same model supports fly-through visualisations, exhibitions and public engagement.
Our work
For the Friends of the Stockton & Darlington Railway, we surveyed Heighington Station, built in 1826/7 and the world's oldest purpose-built railway station. The Grade II* listed building is on the Heritage at Risk Register, and the Friends are raising money to restore it. Our survey has gone to their architect and will form the basis of any future plans to save the building. For the National Trust, our survey of Penrhyn Castle gives a precise record of the building's current condition to inform any conservation work.
