High-fidelity digi-doubles for the Just Used Confused.com campaign

Film, TV & CommercialsUntold Studios2025

When our friends at Untold Studios came to us with a gravity defying request early in 2025, we were only too happy to help out. Confused.com were to launch the second phase of its Just Used Confused.com campaign, unveiling 3 new adverts that visualise the sense of emotional relief customers feel after arranging their insurance by showing everyday people transforming into inflatable, helium-filled versions of themselves. The animation team at Untold therefore needed to recreate each of the 3 protagonists as a balloon version of themselves and commissioned Kittiwake Digital to create the digi-doubles that facilitated the transformation process from actor to human dirigible.

The fidelity of the digital data needed to be exceptional, so we worked with our friends at FBFX, whose ultra-high-resolution body scanning multi-camera rig captured every detail with precision. We then processed the images and cleaned up the geometry and textures to move from a rough scan into a clean production-ready model.

We think the results speak for themselves, as the Director Jeff Low simply elucidated: “Most ads are dreadful. I think these are not.”
