Netflix - You’re Not Ready

3D environment capture for a high-energy Netflix campaign

VFXNetflixElectric Theatre Collective

When our old colleague Neil Riley contacted us to help out on an ambitious new advert for Netflix being shot in Bulgaria, we wasted no time boarding a plane to Sofia and heading out into some of the coldest night shoots we have ever worked through. Neil and Vic Lovejoy at the Electric Theatre Collective were tasked with creating a whistle stop tour through over 25 Netflix titles, including The Witcher, Cobra Kai, Emily in Paris, and more, creating one continuous, unpredictable journey. It was designed less like a traditional advert and more like an invitation to dive into the new Netflix programming.

The result is a bold, high-energy teaser that captures the scale and variety of Netflix. It’s chaotic in a good way, full of detail and Easter eggs; leaving you with that familiar feeling: just one more episode. Visually, it is just as ambitious; packed with VFX and practical effects, giving it a cinematic feel rather than a typical advert.

Our work involved capturing the architectural environments across multiple shoot locations, with the aim of recording every detail of the roads, buildings, and set dressing. As all exterior sequences were filmed on busy public streets, scanning time was limited to the filming periods themselves, requiring us to capture data while carefully avoiding standing in shot during active takes.
