We 3D scan sets, locations, props, vehicles and actors for VFX teams working on feature films, high-end TV and commercials.

How we work on set

On a shoot, time is short and the camera comes first. We combine tripod-mounted laser scanners, handheld scanners, drones and high-resolution photography, and work around the schedule. On a Netflix campaign in Sofia, every exterior was scanned during the filming periods themselves, without standing in shot. For digi-doubles we work with FBFX, whose multi-camera body scanning rig captures actors in fine detail, and then clean up the geometry and textures into production-ready models.

What you receive

Fully textured 3D models of sets, locations, vehicles and props, digi-doubles of actors, and Gaussian splats, in most recognised 2D, 3D and 4D file formats. The Under Salt Marsh studio set, for example, was delivered as OBJ files with UDIMs and multiple textures.

Our work

For Milk VFX on Sky Atlantic's Under Salt Marsh, we captured the entire Welsh village of Fairbourne, with 308 laser scans and more than 15,000 images, alongside the purpose-built set at Dragon Studios in Cardiff. We have also scanned the vehicles for The Hurricane Heist, the castle interiors for Extra Ordinary, and sets, props and actors for Untold Studios on campaigns for Sky, Poretti and Confused.com.

Do you travel?

Yes. Shoots have taken us to Bulgaria, Slovenia and Ireland, and we work with a network of licensed pilots and scanning specialists across the UK, Europe and beyond.
